Probably one of the most emotional experiences of my life was seeing the AIDS QUILT for the very first time. I was overcome with emotion most of the time. Each Panel a remembrance of a young soul takening way too early.
I truly believe every young person in the LGBT community should view this quilt and be reminded of another time when the community buried hundreds each week.. as the Nation, controlled by the GOP and Reagan at the time, ignored the epidemic. I lived the horror and attended so many funerals and still hold some bitterness towards them.
I can't believe with so many well off Gays and Lesbians with deep pockets- no company- organization- gay chamber of commerce - Nada- NONE ..have come forward to to donate to this awesome cause. Forfiet a circuit party ticket or a company trip and contribute.
