The Sound of Music: NBC To Air Live Musical Production event! WTF?

because NBC thinks people are too ignorant to rent the dvd of the academy Award winning Film.. lets just do a a sing along.. lets hope ABC airs the MOVIE the same night..

The Sound of Music" is coming to NBC. The network will partner with "Smash" producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to air a live broadcast of the classic musical based on the original Broadway show...And NOT the movie!

"It is our supreme pleasure to broadcast -- live -- a new version of the seminal Broadway musical 'The Sound of Music' for a whole new generation," Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. 

YEAH.. cuz they think people are too friggin Stupid to watch a DVD of the Orignal OSCAR winning movie that has transcended  generations.  im waiting for NBC to remake GOLDEN GIRLS next..
